Andras Nemeth is feared and respected in equal measure and it’s easy to see why. The Hungarian superstar has a seemingly supernatural way of reaching final table after final table.

Not only did Nemeth navigate his way to two final tables at GGPoker on December 6, but he was also the last player standing at both of them

The first came in the High Roller MILLION$, which was his biggest score of the night and one of the biggest of his career. Nemeth eventually found himself heads-up against China’s “Dabo King” in what was essentially an $89,000 heads-up SNG! There was never any thought about making a deal despite the pay jump so Nemeth reeled in a $282,393 prize when he sent the final opponent to the rail. Second-place weighed in at $193,494.

“mrsbradleyy” of Finland exited in third and won the tournament’s other six-figure prize, namely $132,582.

Victory number two for Nemeth came in the High Rollers PLO event, another tournament packed to the brim with some of poker’s best talent.

PLO specialist Ami Barer reached the final table but could only muster an eighth-place finish. Joseph Cheong faired a little better, eventually bowing out in fifth before Justin Park collected the event’s first five-figure prize, $10,266, for a fourth-place finish.

Norway’s “Patches” was the third place finisher, which left Nemeth and Andrii Novak heads-up. Nemeth got his hands on all the chips in play and won the $24,048 top prize, leaving Novak to bank $18,107.

Patrick Leonard Takes Down $1,050 Sunday Warm-Up at PokerStars

Patrick Leonard enjoyed his Sunday session because it resulted in a victory in the $1,050 Sunday Warm-Up at PokerStars. Leonard, formerly ranked number one in the world for online poker tournaments, walked away with a $20,073 prize in this event.

Leonard locked horns with a final table full of superstars. Canada’s “RPILON” was the first pro to bust before Steve “Mr. Tim Caum” O’Dwyer and three-time Sunday Million champion Artem “veeea” Vezhenkov busted.

Tim “TTWIST” Kelly and Niklas “Lena900” Astedt were the next to fall. Astedt would later win the $1,050 Sunday Supersonic for more than $21,000.

Brazilian sensation Andre “aakkari” Akkari crashed out in fourth for $11,967 before Viktor “papan9_p$” Ustimov ran out of steam in third place. Ustimov’s exit left Bert “girafganger7” Stevens and Leonard as the last players standing. Leonard swept his final opponent aside to secure the tournament’s largest prize.

Poker Victory

Ukraine’s Pavlo Kolinkovskyi won the latest edition of the High Roller Big Game at partypoker and turned his $2,600 investment into $82,436. This tournament always attracts some of the biggest names in poker and this week was no different.

The likes of Justin Bonomo, Aliaksei Boika, and David Yan were among the first casualties at the nine-handed final table. Boika was also deep in the Irish Poker Masters The Opener which he went on to win for almost €45,000 when bounties were included.

Thomas Muehloecker’s exit in fifth left was followed by the demise of Dario Sammartino in fourth; Sammartino scooped $31,046.

Ukraine’s Andrii Novak’s exit in third secured a $43,216 score and left Kolinkovskyi and Daniil Lukin heads-up for the title and the lion’s share of the prize pool. No deal was struck despite a difference in prize money of more than $23,000. This meant Kolinkovskyi bagged $82,436 when he won the heads-up battle leaving Lukin to pad his bankroll with the $59,345 runner-up prize.
